FÁS - National Resource Centre for Vocational Guidance

The National Resource Centres for Guidance in Ireland provides information on all educational and vocational training opportunities within the European Union. The National Resource Centres receive funding from the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme, which is the European Vocational Training Programme. 

The activities of the National Resource Centres includes: 

Serving as an information centre about other Member States accessible to guidance counsellors and also to other organisations concerned with the field of education and training. 

Providing information, advice and specific or individualised guidance on the placement of these young people who wish to undertake a period of study or training in another Member State. 

Providing information, advice and specific or individualised guidance on the placement of these people from other Member States who wish to undertake a period of study or training in Ireland. 

In Ireland there are two National Resource Centres: 

The FAS National Occupation and Career Guidance Centre (NRCVG) providing information on all vocational training and labour market opportunities within the EU under the aegis of the Department of Enterprise and Employment. 

The National Centre for Guidance in Education (NCGE) under the aegis of the Department of Education providing information on all educational opportunities within the EU.
