Overall NRCVG co-ordination: CINOP

CINOP, the Dutch National Centre for the Innovation of Education and Training, is a non-profit-making organisation. It has a permanent staff of over 200, over 120 of which are educational specialists with a university degree. CINOP is an organisation that specialises in innovation in national and international vocational education, in-company training and adult education. CINOP focuses on bridging the gap between the world of work and education.

CINOP’s expertise spans a variety of topics, applied research, development of curricula, conceptual development of powerful learning environments, development of educational materials and implementation.

CINOP specialises in attuning the needs of the labour market to education structures and training programmes. CINOP develops –in co-operation with the client system- adequate and flexible measures. An instrument used to gather the information is the occupational analysis and the market scanner. CINOP is also involved in national and international projects aiming to develop procedures for Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL), recognising the value of experiences gained outside the formal education systems. CINOP designs curricula and training courses taking into account new didactical insights focussed on active learning. Assignments on problem oriented learning, open and distance learning and independent learning are carried out for a variety of clients, like schools and publishers.

CINOP is involved in several international projects: CINOP is working for international organisations such as the European Commission and acts as the national co-ordinator for European programmes. CINOP supports the development of vocational education and training in Central and Eastern European countries. CINOP is involved in a project directed to the reform of the VET system in The Netherlands Antilles.
